Hannah and Eileen’s wedding takes the cake (well technically it was pie) for most adorable wedding ever! Having had a taste of how maddeningly awesome this couple is at their sunflower field engagement shoot last fall, I was all too pumped to capture their big day!
My team and I had worked in torrential rain just the day prior and showed up ready to endure another day expecting the unexpected. However, the grey skies seemed to part ways just to shine down on Hannah and Ilene. So much so, that we took a “small walk” through Patterson Park to capture one of my favorite first looks of all time at the Pagoda Tower!
Hannah and Ilene married in front of the Belmont Manner with not a dry eye or cloud in site. Their ceremony included a Tree Planting ritual paired with a slightly revised Giving Tree reading read beautifully by Hannah’s brother.
Side note: Those beautiful sunset photos entailed me crawling on the ground with 8+ month bun in the oven. We may have had to hijack a golf cart or two to get where we were going, have a quick pep talk with the tummy and pound some Gaviscon but I’ve never been happier with how breathtaking these photos turned out.
Watching their love through my viewfinder was an unforgettable experience that I wouldn’t trade for the world. Truly, its wedding days like Hannah and Ilene’s that remind me why I treasure what I do.
As the day came to an end and we were packing up cameras, lenses, and the occasional holster. We bid our good byes to the beautiful newlyweds, whereupon Ilene told us she was indeed “sorry but not sorry, for making us all cry.” With that being said, my team and I came to the general consensus that we love their love too much and hope to persuade Hannah and Ilene to please remarry… each other that is. So we could have the privilege to do it all over again!
